Mitutoyo Series 500 Solar Powered Digital Calipers

One of the minor drawbacks with using an electronic digital caliper was the fact that it was battery powered and there was a need to ensure that you had a spare battery on hand should the one in your caliper go flat. It’s a problem that will only occur on the rare occasion but you can be sure that the time it does will be the time that you simply must have the most precise measurements possible.

Mitutoyo have solved this problem with the Mitutoyo Series 500 Solar Powered Digital Caliper. This series of calipers require no battery and it also retains its origin point after the caliper has been turned off.

Charge Notes for the 500-784, 500-785 and 500-786

The charge function of these solar calipers allow it to be used in normal conditions without interruption even when the ambient light is insufficient for a short period of time. When the calliper is fully charged it can operate for around one hour in an environment of 50 Lux illumination.

The time needed to charge the caliper can vary depending on the conditions. However, when the Super Caliper is left unused in light of 500 lux (normal working environments) it will take around one hour to reach full charge.
